I received my BFA in Illustration and Masters in Art from California State University, Long Beach.  I worked for many years as a freelance Illustrator for various magazines, card companies and non-profits.  I have also shown my work in many exhibits and galleries and I have received numerous awards along the way.

I moved to Riverside in 2002 from San Francisco.  After taking a break from my art to refurbish our 1927 home and garden, I returned to painting again fulltime in July 2008.

I am a member of the Riverside Community Art Association, Corona Art Association, Watercolor West, National Watercolor Society, California Arts Club, and the Riverside Art Museum.

My work was chosen to become a poster in the 2004, 2006 and 2008 “Future of Reading” Competition.  My acrylic painting “White Monsta” was purchased by the Riverside Art Museum for their Permanent Collection during their 2008 “Off The Wall” Event.  Two of my watercolors received awards in the 2008 “Dominick Frascella Show” in Corona garnering a First Place and an Honorable Mention.  In the 2009 Founder’s Day Show my painting “The Curious World of Reynaldo and his Twist of Lime Suit” was awarded Best of Show.  In the 2009 Redlands Multi Media Mini Show my acrylic painting “Crazy Lilly” received the Bud Rickert Merchandise Award. My watercolor painting “Lilly and the Bottlebrush” was juried into the 2009 NWS All Members Show, only 91 works out of 400 were selected.

Most recently my painting “Lilly in the Light” was only one of forty seven works juried into California Art Club’s “Eternal Light” exhibition which will be on display for 6 months at the Historic Blinn House in Pasadena.  The two banner designs I submitted to the Riverside Banner ARTventure were chosen to become banners and are currently on display along the avenues here in Riverside.  I had two paintings in my “Floating Series” selected by the Riverside Arts Council for the Spring/Summer 2009 Exhibit in the County Administrative Center.

I work in both watercolor on paper and acrylic on canvas and masonite.  I would describe my paintings as expressionistic realism with a dash of whimsy thrown in from time to time.  I love using light and shadow to create a dramatic statement.
