While attending the Gay Pride Parade in Palm Springs I took a several photos of a procession of dogs and their owners as they passed by. I was seated on the curb so i caught everything from the dogs eye level. I always liked this particular photo because of the bright colors and the gait of the dog.

In May and June the Jacaranda trees become lavender delights and as the blossoms begin to fall the ground becomes a carpet of purple. Lilly was out inspecting the backyard when Michael snapped a few photos of her in action. This profile view of Lilly from the back with the bamboo reminded me of a Japanese print in its simplicity of design.

I just completed this transparent watercolor of the Monterey County Courthouse. I was working from a photo that was taken while we were visiting family in Salinas, California. Once again the light and shadows drew me into this photo and the extreme perspective added that extra something that demanded I take it beyond the photo and into the world of watercolor.

Here is our French Bulldog Lilly enjoying some sunshine by our bottle brush bush. I was intrigued with the shadows the light was creating on the bricks and the bright whites on Lilly.
This painting was one of 91 to be juried into the 2009 National Watercolor Society All Members Show. It is traveling to The Cesar Chavez Student Center Art Gallery Show at San Francisco State University for an exhibit of 25 watercolors from September 9th through Early October.
