I did this acrylic painting from a photo I took while walking Lilly.  It is a view of Indian Hill Road looking towards Mount Rubidoux.  I loved the way the late afternoon light was coming through the trees and making the wonderful shadows across the roadway.  A little further down the road I got a photo of Lilly looking towards the sun and so I decided to incorporate her into the view.

This is one of two bridge towers that remain from the flood that washed away the old bridge over the Santa Ana River.  They are both still perched in their original location right beside Mount Rubidoux.

It was a first time trip to Catalina for my partner who ended up taking a bunch of photos on the island.  This one caught my eye enough to demand a painting.  I loved the curve of the road and the shadows being cast by the stately line of Eucalyptus trees.

The source photo for this one came from an old copy of Arizona Highways.  The article was a feature about the filming of Hollywood movies out west, in this case Monument Valley.  The lovely horses in this barren landscape begged to be made into a painting.

I was out walking our dog Lilly when i came across the lovely vista of this Historic Riverside bridge enveloped in palm shadows.  I thought the photograph would make a better painting and I was right.
