Floating Series
I am currently exploring the concept of floating in a series of watercolor, mixed media and acrylic paintings. At the moment men in suits are the dominant forces in this series but all that can change.

This painting is in response to a theme show here in Riverside at Division 9 Gallery. The theme is "When Swine Flu" and the only requirement was that you have the image of a pig in your artwork. I decided to combine my design with my continuing exploration of my own "Floating Series".

This painting utilizes transparent watercolor and acrylic. The subject matter and composition is similar to one I explored years ago. There is much symbolism in this piece as it relates to another time in my life but I have brought it forward and added the floating suit element as the center focus of this painting of my life PAST and PRESENT.

"The Curious World of Reynaldo & His Twist of Lime Suit"

This was the first acrylic painting in my Floating Series. Utilizing some of my favorite photos I came up with this dramatic composition which features both our dogs, Lilly and Blanca, in the act of floating.
This painting won Best of Show honors at the 2009 Founder's Day Show in Corona.

This was the second acrylic painting in my Floating Series. Favorite photos once again formed the basis for this floating tale or should it be tail? I loved the challenge of capturing the figure in the pool and the rippling water.
This painting was juried into the 2009 Spring/Summer Artscape Exhibition.

This was the fourth and possibly final acrylic painting in my Floating Series. Combining the beach scene of Southern California with the beautiful hills of Northern California is a symbolic reference to my relationship.
This painting has the distinction of being juried into the 2009 Spring/Summer Artscape Exhibition and then censored out of the show because it contains two women sunning without tops.
