First VP Jill Jones has just presented me with 2009 Artist of the Year honors at the Corona Art Association Holiday Party on December 5. As Artist of the Year I will receive a Solo Exhibit at the Art House in April of 2010.
Award of Merit in Non Theme
For those of you who selected "Floating Swine" you are the winners. Yep, it won an Award of Merit in the Non Theme Category. Only 2 awards were given out in Non Theme so I am thrilled.
Show judge Greg Adamson had this to say: "Very unusual and exhibits strength of craft and brave confidence from the artist. This piece commands attention." Many thanks Greg. It is so nice to have this painting appreciated as I am really proud of it.
California Art Club Honor Sunday December 6
Yesterday Michael and I traveled to Pasadena to attend a reception at the Historic Blinn House. My watercolor painting titled "At Peace" was one of only 50 paintings to be juried into the prestigious "Precious Gifts" Exhibit.
I have decided to sell a number of my paintings as prints through a site called imagekind.com. At this point i can only upload 24 images so if you have an interest in a particular image that isn't on the site please let me know and I will make it available as a print.
My original watercolor ornaments are currently available at RAM for $28.
Speaking of Ornaments RCAA Annual Auction
Joan & Jerry Coffey were the highest bidders and took home "Angel Blanca". I think they have every ornament I have ever donated. Congrats J & J and Many Thanks!
This year I donated this ornament to commemorate our boxer Blanca who died of brain cancer on May 21, 2009. The back of the ornament is inscribed with a memorial to our lovely deaf "Angel Blanca".
